Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- held training sessions for resident small and medium-sized sci-tech businesses on June 18-19, so they could apply for recognition as national-level high-tech enterprises, according to Guiyang HIDZ officials.
The event involved the participation of about 130 representatives from 95 resident firms in the zone.
Experts invited by the zone gave talks on relevant regulations about the identification and management of high-tech enterprises. They gave talks on the key and difficult points in making applications, the additional research and development costs required and the planning and layout of intellectual property rights.
They also illustrated their talks with practical cases.
Company representatives said the training sessions provided solutions to the practical problems encountered by enterprises in the process of applying to be recognized as a national-level high-tech enterprise.
They said that they were able to understand the applications process, which would help them in their own preparations and improve their rate of success.
