Construction of a major furniture factory and additional facilities began on July 15 at the Shawen Ecological Scientific Park in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital of China's Southwest Guizhou province -- with investment of 280 million yuan ($40.01 million), according to Guiyang HIDZ officials.
They said it is the second phase of a project being undertaken by Guizhou Daziran Science and Technology Co Ltd.
The project covers an area of about 106 mu, or 7.07 hectares, with a construction area of 31,822 square meters and a total floorspace of 89,307 sq m.
The phase two construction will involve construction of eight buildings. These will include an upholstered furniture test center, a plant fiber research and development center, an academician workstation, four production plants and one auxiliary production plant.
