Six companies that are residents of Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- were approved as provincial enterprise technology centers, according to local media reports on Nov 16.
An enterprise technology center is a technology R&D and innovation institution, established by enterprises according to the needs of market competition.
The number of approved businesses in the Guiyang HIDZ accounts for 66.7 percent of the total in Guiyang city and they represent 35.3 percent of the total number in the province.
The six Guiyang HIDZ enterprise technology centers approved this time are involved in the fields of information technology, equipment manufacturing and biological medicine.
All these companies had achieved good results in industrial technology research and development and in creating intellectual property -- as well as in innovative industry, university and research collaboration.
Moving forwards, the zone plans to continue to support residents to apply for the rating of national and provincial enterprise technology centers.
It would encourage and guide companies to increase their investment in R&D. This would provide strong scientific and technological support for their sustained development, boosting the overall transformation and upgrading of industry and high-quality development.
Enterprise technology centers are responsible for formulating business technological innovation plans. They undertake industrial tech research and development, creating and applying for intellectual property rights, establishing technical standard systems, training innovative talent, building collaborative innovation networks -- and promoting the implementation of the whole process of technological innovation.
