Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- was once again awarded the title of national excellent (Class A) high-tech enterprise incubator, according to local media reports on Dec 15.
It marked the seventh consecutive year that the zone has won the honor.
The title was awarded based on an assessment and evaluation of national science and technology business incubators launched by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center at the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The status of being a high-tech enterprise incubator is an important part of the national innovation system.
These incubators provide core content for the regional innovation system, which aims to promote the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and cultivate high-tech enterprises and entrepreneurs.
After more than 20 years of development, there are 1,173 national-level high-tech enterprise incubators in China. During the latest assessment, over 1,000 incubators participated in the evaluation, of which 235 incubators were rated as excellent (Class A) -- accounting for 20 percent of the participating incubators.
In future, the Guiyang HIDZ will strengthen its development and focus on the establishment of Shubo Avenue grassroots Party building demonstration area.
It will continue to optimize its ecosystem for scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship and provide a new momentum for its economic and social development.
