Two enterprises resident in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) recently got the green light from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security to set up postdoctoral research workstations, according to local media reports on Dec 23.
A total of 497 units across the country have won this laurel.
The two from Guiyang HIDZ -- located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- are Guiyang Xunda Electronics Co Ltd and Shijihengtong Technology Co Ltd.
The postdoctoral research workstations will become talent platforms for businesses in the park to deepen the cooperation of industry, universities and research, and enhance their independent innovation abilities.
They will also be able to recruit and train postdoctoral researchers and further promote the transformation and upgrading of enterprises. What's more, they will help improve technological innovation, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and play a positive role in attracting topflight and talented people to come and work in the zone.
So far, seven postdoctoral research workstations, 12 provincial talent centers, 31 maker spaces, 219 R&D operations and 374 innovation service institutions and other platforms have been located in the zone.
These have in turn attracted a group of leading talent in their fields -- as well as other top people and innovation teams -- who can take the lead in original innovation, achieve breakthroughs in key technologies and drive industrial transformation.
Moving forwards, the zone will continue to optimize its ecosystem to give full play to postdoctoral innovation.
It will act to provide better services for enterprises in general and focus on the development of strategic emerging industries. The zone will, in addition, add a number of high-quality, high-level talent carriers and strive to build the postdoctoral workstations into dynamic platforms for the commercialization of scientific, technological and innovation achievements.
