A ceremony was held at the Tsinghua – Guizhou big data postgraduate practical education base on March 3 to welcome 50 big data postgraduates from Tsinghua University. The number of graduates is nearly double that of last year.
The base, located at Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, went into operation on Feb 25, 2019. It has an innovative operation model that involves the joint training of talents by the government, university and enterprises.
The first batch of postgraduates has published 13 papers and obtained two patents.
With the intellectual resources of Tsinghua University, big data companies in the zone have solved 16 technical problems, including six key ones.
The innovative training model has been recognized by Tsinghua University and big data experts, according to an official from the science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship bureau of Guiyang HIDZ.
The zone will continue to improve the base's supporting facilities in the future and build it into the "Guizhou Innovation Center of Tsinghua University." It will also enhance its innovation and entrepreneurship environment.
