Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, ranked first in comprehensive results of industrial investment promotion in 2020 among the province's national open innovation platforms, according to a recent announcement.
The zone also ranked first for industrial investment promotion among the city's districts (cities, counties and development zones) in 2020.
Guiyang HIDZ has made great efforts to achieve these triumphs.
In recent years, the zone has put much focus on industries such as high-end consumer goods manufacturing, advanced equipment manufacturing, new energy and the digital economy, introducing new technologies, new industries and new business formats. As a result, it has attracted a number of industry-leading companies.
In 2020, the zone introduced 78 projects, and 17.97 billion yuan ($2.75 billion) in funding for newly introduced industrial projects was in place.
All departments in the zone attach great importance to investment promotion. In 2020, leading officials from the zone undertook 18 investment promotion trips to Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and other places and visited 43 companies.
Other officials also led investment promotion delegations on 33 occasions and visited 113 companies. A total of 48 project agreements were signed worth 15.56 billion yuan.
Also, the zone arranged for investment promotion officials to work in Shenzhen to conduct surveys and encourage investment.
Guiyang HIDZ continues to improve the business environment, supporting companies to settle in the zone and helping them overcome difficulties.
