A project from a company based at Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) was listed among the country's internet of things (IoT) projects in 2020-2021, according to a recent announcement from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Guiyang HIDZ is located in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The recognized company is Guizhou CASIC Smart Agriculture Co Ltd.
The project is known as the "key research and demonstration technologies of IoT intelligent control and data modeling for Guizhou's characteristic agriculture in mountainous areas". It was listed in the key IoT technology and platform innovation demonstration category.
Carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the collection of IoT projects aims to deepen the integration of IoT and the economy and society, promote industrial integration innovation and large-scale development, and promote new IoT infrastructure construction.
The project submitted by Guiyang HIDZ is based on the intelligent irrigation technology of Guizhou's characteristic agriculture in mountainous areas. It applies agricultural IoT, cloud computing, big data, mobile communication and artificial intelligence technology to solve problems such as complex remote data transmission and the development of an efficient economic model for mountain crop growth.
