The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made significant achievements in advancing new industrialization.
Statistics from Guiyang HIDZ show that in the first five months of this year, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size in the zone accumulated to 1.80 billion yuan ($270.07 million), a year-on-year increase of 32.8 percent.
The growth rate ranked third in Guiyang city and was 18 percentage points higher than the city's average growth rate of 14.8 percent.
From January to May, the output value of 19 electronic information manufacturing enterprises above designated size in the zone reached 3.48 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 141.4 percent.
The zone's 33 advanced equipment manufacturing enterprises above designated size completed an output value of 3.99 billion yuan, an increase of 41.96 percent; and that of the new-energy vehicle industry reached 1.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 191.45 percent.
In the first five months of the year, the total completed industrial investment in the zone was 2.74 billion yuan, and the funds in place for newly-introduced industrial projects totaled 9.89 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 56.89 percent.
Guiyang HIDZ's preferential policies for enterprises and efforts for business promotion have contributed to the rapid growth of the zone's industries.
Over a five-month period, officials from the zone paid eight visits to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Nanjing to seek business opportunities.
Guiyang HIDZ signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guangdong High-tech Industry Chamber, with the signed project investment volume exceeding 3.6 billion yuan.
At a signing ceremony with enterprises from East China's Jiangsu province, the zone signed key industrial projects with a total investment volume of 1.97 billion yuan. These projects involve big data electronic information, advanced equipment manufacturing and production, and research and development.
