The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently released robust economic development data for the previous year.
In 2021, the total output value of large-scale industries in the Guiyang HIDZ hit 20.2 billion yuan ($3.03 billion), exceeding the 20 billion yuan mark for the first time.
Last year, the Guiyang HIDZ's newly introduced industrial projects completed putting a total of 17.01 billion yuan of funds in place, ranking it first in the city in terms of absolute value.
Meanwhile, revenue generated by the software and information technology service industry reached 9 billion yuan in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 19.7 percent.
The actual utilization of foreign capital by the Guiyang HIDZ in 2021 came in at $312.18 million and the total value of imports and exports reached $535.65 million.
Additionally, the Guiyang HIDZ added six enterprises that were rated as "zhuanjingtexin" little giants – at the national level, bringing the total number there to 10.
The appellation refers to small and medium-sized enterprises characterized by specialization, refinement and novelty.
