The digital economy is understood to have made significant achievements in 2021 in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ – located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Last year, revenue generated by the Guiyang HIDZ's software and information technology service industry hit 9.52 billion yuan ($1.43 billion), a year-on-year increase of 26.6 percent.
At the same time, 20 digital economy businesses were introduced into the Guiyang HIDZ and 28 start-up enterprises and 41 growth companies were cultivated in the zone's big data, software and information technology service sectors.
Meanwhile, the zone's six 5G platforms – including the PIX Moving 5G internet of vehicles project and the Lichuang Technology 5G IoT fault location analysis platform – were selected to be included in the Guiyang 5G demonstration application project library and started construction.
Additionally, efforts continued to be made by the Guiyang HIDZ to promote the integrated development of big data with the services industry, as well as in rural revitalization and improvement to the quality of life of residents.
The "One Ma Guizhou" platform – built by the enterprise e-commerce cloud under the jurisdiction of the Guiyang HIDZ – has attracted a total of 37,600 enterprises, from both inside and outside Guizhou province, following its launch to Feb 16, 2022.
The platform provides 111,000 different types of commodities such as travel tickets and takeaway orders.
More than 5.59 million transaction orders have been completed through the platform, with a transaction volume of 16.47 billion yuan.
