Guiyang Fudi Battery Co, an enterprise located in the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has developed rapidly since its founding.
In January 2019, Guiyang HIDZ and BYD Company signed an investment cooperation agreement on building an intelligent manufacturing industrial park in the zone and establishing Guiyang Fudi Battery Co.
"With the full support of Guiyang HIDZ, the industrial park was completed and put into production within two years," said Weng Yong, a project manager working for the Guiyang company.
The blade batteries it produces have passed the most demanding needle-prick tests for safety. It is said that in the power battery industry, passing this safety test is like climbing Mount Everest.
The company's blade battery production costs have dropped by 30 percent, and space utilization has increased by 50 percent.
The blade batteries benefit from high safety, high power, strong battery life, and long life. They are currently mainly supplied to BYD Auto.
The Guiyang company has built a total of six 15GWh production lines, and the output value in the first quarter of 2022 is expected to reach 1 billion yuan. The annual output value target is at least 5 billion yuan this year.
When the full project begins operating, it will have a production capacity of tens of billions of yuan.
