The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, or Guiyang HIDZ - located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province - recently ranked 93rd on the latest list of the top 100 advanced manufacturing parks in China.

The ranking report of the parks was compiled by the authoritative CCID Consulting Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Research Center.

The evaluation was based on the advanced manufacturing classification standards of the National Bureau of Statistics. The consultants conducted in-depth tracking research on 230 national economic development zones and 168 national high-tech zones across the country.

The results are said to reflect the comprehensive level of national industrial parks in the development of advanced manufacturing in such areas as economic strength, innovation potential and integration ability.

This was the third consecutive year that Guiyang HIDZ made it onto the national list.

As the first state-level high-tech zone in Guizhou province, the Guiyang HIDZ has prioritized the development of advanced manufacturing in recent years.

In 2021, the total industrial output value of industries above a designated size in the zone topped 20 billion yuan for the first time.

Meanwhile, the Guiyang HIDZ has implemented an innovation-driven development strategy in depth and encouraged local enterprises to strengthen their intellectual property rights.

To date, the Guiyang HIDZ has become home to 341 national high-tech enterprises, 33 national R&D platforms, two national key laboratories, two national engineering technology research centers, six national enterprise technology centers and 60 business incubators.

In addition, it has developed a digital economy sector that places equal emphasis on intelligent manufacturing and applications scenarios, as well as built an advanced manufacturing industry cluster.

Currently, the Guiyang HIDZ has a total of 21 national-level pilot demonstration projects and 76 provincial-level key projects, spurring 328 enterprises to carry out in-depth integration of big data and the real economy.
