The Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) - located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province - recently ranked 79th on the latest list of the top 100 high-quality development industrial parks in China, climbing nine places compared with 2021.
The ranking of the industrial parks was compiled by the authoritative CCID Consulting Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Research Center.
This research report mainly evaluates two types of parks, national high-tech zones and national economic development zones.
In the national high-tech zone category, the operating income of enterprises in 2020 had to be at least 90 billion yuan or the number of high-tech enterprises in the zone had to be at least 160.
In the national economic development zone category, the gross domestic product of the zone in 2020 had to be at least 42 billion yuan or the total import and export volume had to be at least 18 billion yuan.
The report shows that the 53 national-level high-tech zones on the list had an operating income of 33.48 trillion yuan, accounting for 78 percent of all national-level high-tech zones in the country.
The 47 national-level economic development zones on the list had actually utilized foreign capital of $31.8 billion, accounting for 52 percent of the total actual utilization of foreign capital by all national-level economic and technological development zones across the country.
The report analysis pointed out that in this new development stage, the key to promoting the high-quality development of industrial parks is to solve five basic contradictions: namely the contradiction between industrial scale and industrial structure, investment drive and technological innovation, resource input and output benefits, the development of the development zones and parks and regional development, the effectiveness of industry and population agglomeration and the quality of public services.
