Guizhou Transportation Planning Survey and Design Academe Co, a resident enterprise of the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), has been shortlisted for two international awards for its design of the Lyuzhi River Bridge on the Yuxi-Chuxiong Expressway in Yunnan province.
The two gongs are the 2023 International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE) "Construction Innovation Award" and the 2023 International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Outstanding Project Award.

This is the company's second time to be shortlisted for major international bridge awards, following a previous nomination for its work on Pingtang Bridge.
The Lyuzhi River Bridge is the world's first single-tower steel box girder cable-stayed bridge, with a main span of 780 meters and a total length of 813 meters. The bridge was completed and opened to traffic on Aug 26, 2022.
Construction of the tunnel anchor on a vertical cliff was the biggest challenge. The construction of the bridge perfectly integrated the engineering design with the ecological environment, achieving harmony between people, the bridge, and the natural surroundings.
