The "High-Safety Control System Permanent Magnet Generator Design and Verification Technology" developed by CASIC Guizhou Linquan Motor Co was recently granted second prize in the 2023 Guizhou Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards.

CASIC Guizhou Linquan Motor Co is a resident enterprise of Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The aviation short-circuit-resistant generator utilizing this award-winning technology boasts features such as a compact size, high rotational speed, high reliability, long lifespan, strong environmental adaptability, and multi-channel output.

It can achieve a rated speed range from 12 percent to 115 percent, and withstand short-circuit conditions for over an hour. This technology is primarily applied in the engine systems of large aircraft, helicopters, and drones.

"We began exploring and researching this technology back in 2012, focusing on the need for high-safety control systems in permanent magnet generators," explained Zhang Dengping, the project leader.

"We aimed to address issues such as insufficient safety in power supply systems, inadequate evaluation of complex working conditions, and incomplete system-level characteristic verification, thereby enhancing the safety of power supply for control systems," Zhang added.

After more than a decade of technical breakthroughs, the project has integrated with next-generation advanced generator control technologies, reaching advanced international levels and overcoming bottlenecks in the development of new generators in China.

Zhang introduced that this technology has already been applied in the aerospace field, including the CJ1000 engine control system of the domestically produced large passenger aircraft C919.

The application of this technology has broken through foreign technology blockades, achieved independent controllability, and ensured the safety of major projects.

Currently, this technological achievement has been widely implemented in high-safety control systems for aviation engines, generating economic benefits of nearly 500 million yuan.

Additionally, the resulting technological advancement has been extended to high-end civilian engines, providing strong support for the development of China's engine technology.
