Captain George Coffee, a coffee factory in Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), is making its mark in China's coffee industry with its "champion-quality" vision.
Founded in 2022, the company integrates coffee roasting, extraction, production, and sales.
The brand's founder, Peng Jinyang, is a well-known name in the coffee world. Dubbed a "competition enthusiast", Peng has won multiple prestigious awards since 2016.
He claimed the World Brewers Cup Championship in Jakarta in 2025 – a historic victory for China's coffee community. His barista team under the "Captain George" brand has also dominated the national Brewers Cup for five consecutive years, reinforcing the company's "champion coffee" reputation.

As the company grew, Peng refocused his efforts on core coffee operations. Benefiting from the zone's supportive industrial ecosystem, the company has seen rapid growth – achieving an output value of 16 million yuan ($2.24 million) in 2024, with 2025 numbers expected to surpass 20 million yuan, a 25 percent year-on-year increase.
From a small startup, Captain George Coffee has evolved into a national brand with over 100 employees and a robust online presence. Since 2022, it has ranked first in the premium coffee category on Chinese e-commerce platform Taobao, while expanding its offline footprint with stores in Guiyang and Shanghai.
Now, Captain George Coffee is brewing its next big move – a futuristic sky cafe atop the Huajiang Canyon Bridge, the world's highest bridge. Set to open soon, the cafe will blend world-class coffee with breathtaking views.
