Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province has been listed among China's Top 100 Industrial Parks for High-Quality Development (2025), according to a report released by CCID Consulting.
Ranked 69th nationwide, it is the only park from Guizhou to make the list. The zone also ranked 90th in China's Top 100 Advanced Manufacturing Parks category.
As Guizhou's first national-level high-tech zone, Guiyang HIDZ has focused on industry, technology, and talent development throughout the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25). It has steadily advanced new forms of industrialization and quality productive forces, with its overall strength rising from 42nd in 2020 to 36th among national-level zones.
The zone has achieved notable industrial progress by building a "two main, one special" industrial system, which contributes over 80 percent of its total industrial output. It has developed robust industrial ecosystems for aviation engines, micro-special motors, and electronic information manufacturing, attracting 58 enterprises.
To date, it has cultivated 11 national-level "little giant" technologically-advanced enterprises and engaged more than 300 companies in the deep integration of big data with the real economy.
In terms of innovation, Guizhou Science City within the zone has expanded to 20.64 square kilometers and gained approval for two national key laboratories. The zone hosts 13 innovation platforms at the provincial level or above, 245 certified high-tech enterprises – the highest number in the province – and five national-level incubators, accounting for 83 percent of Guiyang's total.
Talent development has also accelerated. From 2021 to 2025, over 4,000 university graduates from outside the province found employment or started businesses in the zone, and more than 11,000 new industrial professionals were added.
The zone has attracted over 1,300 high-level talents and nurtured 191 experts at the municipal level or above. To support these talents, the zone has planned and built over 400 talent apartments, 3,000 affordable rental units, and 2,000 housing units in its talent town.
