A subsidiary of Guizhou Aviation Technical Development Co, based in the Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), has supplied core turbine components for China's first 2,000-kilogram turbofan engine, the F918, which achieved its first successful ignition on Dec 26.
The F918 is led by Sichuan Tianfu Light Power Technology Co and is designed for 5–15-metric ton-class high-end drones, as well as medium and light business aircraft.
Featuring advanced combustion and sealing technologies, the engine supports long-duration, high-altitude operations, with a single flight exceeding 30 hours. It provides reliable domestically developed power for low-altitude aircraft.
Chengdu Chenghangfa General Power Equipment Co, a subsidiary of the Guiyang HIDZ company, delivered a full-process solution for the engine's key turbine components, including low- and high-pressure turbine rotors, stators, and the turbine support unit, covering everything from material selection and precision machining to final assembly. All components met performance requirements, underpinning the engine's successful first ignition.
The company was honored with the Gold Supplier Award for its high product quality, delivery efficiency, and technical services at the 2025 Annual Supplier Conference of Sichuan Tianfu Light Power Technology Co.
