PIX Robobus, a driverless minibus developed by Pix Moving Co from the Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ), has been awarded the 2025 iF Design Award in Germany, widely regarded as the "Oscars of the design world". This recognition underscores both the vehicle's advanced technology and its distinct design language rooted in local cultural aesthetics.
Blending innovation with a nature-inspired philosophy, the PIX Robobus reimagines mobility under the concept of "space in motion". Its rounded, symmetrical body resembles a futuristic capsule, while the transparent cabin enhances both technological appeal and spatial openness. By abandoning traditional front-and-rear vehicle structures, the design breaks the boundary between transportation and functional space, reflecting a flexible, nature-integrated aesthetic.
Behind the striking design is strong technological expertise: the vehicle is fully developed in-house, spanning both software and hardware, with more than 200 patent applications filed in China, the United States, and Europe. Its modular architecture allows it to be easily reconfigured for various uses, including mobile cafes, unmanned retail stores, and commuter shuttles – effectively combining design innovation with real-world practicality.
