An exchange event on the coordinated development of the data industry and AI was held on Aug 28 during the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2026 in Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Themed "Data-model resonance, scenario-driven development, and shared value," the event brought together experts, industry leaders, and government officials to explore emerging opportunities and trends in data and AI integration.
Liu Yunjie, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, called for advances in future networks to unlock the potential of data as a factor of production and support high-quality AI development. Sun Baolin, director of the China Copyright Protection Center, highlighted the need for a copyright governance framework suited to AI development. Li Liguo, Party secretary of Guizhou Information Center, shared the province's experience in developing AI-oriented data factories.
Business representatives from companies including Tencent Cloud, Hikvision, and Lightwheel also presented their practices in AI, digitalization, and physical AI.
