Guizhou Science City in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) has attracted 1,150 talents since the beginning of 2026, including 78 high-level professionals. It has also jointly trained 210 industry-specific personnel and more than 300 technology transfer specialists to support industrial innovation and workforce development.
Focusing on advanced manufacturing, electronic information, new energy and new materials, and the digital economy, the science hub has compiled more than 2,800 job openings from companies in its industrial park and helped tackle 59 workforce challenges, from skilled-labor shortages to poor business-education communication.
To strengthen its talent pipeline, Guizhou Science City has expanded cooperation with universities and vocational colleges through targeted training programs, internship bases, and joint graduate training. Two local companies have been approved as joint training bases for engineering master's and doctoral students, helping develop advanced research talent through industry-academia partnerships.
Guizhou Science City is also building a professional workforce to facilitate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements through specialized training for technology transfer professionals. Meanwhile, it supports startup teams with business registration, workspace, and policy applications, while helping companies meet recruitment needs and address employees' housing concerns.
To promote practical training, the city has secured more than 900 internship positions in advanced equipment and biomedicine, enabling 94 university students to gain industry experience at local companies. These efforts aim to better align talent development with industrial needs and strengthen the integration of talent, industry, and innovation.
